Account of filming
The roles i undertook were playing a part in the video. i was the main female actor in the video, and i was the Production manager. i wanted to play these parts because i wanted to be involved as much as i could in the video. It was also a lot of fun, However it wasn't as much fun making sure people turned up for the shoots on time and were able to stay as long as we needed them.
We made sure we stuck to the mise en scene as much as possible however we changed the setting of the beach to a car scene because the weather was never good. Furthermore we didn't use any private property so we were able to shoot whenever we wanted. We used the tripod a lot because we wanted some establishing shots and for the camera to stay steady a lot of the time.
The main problems we had was the weather and people turning up on time for shoots, also arranging for everyone to be there was hard because people had work commitments. We overcome this by making sure everyone was available on a certain day and asking them in advance. We changed scenes because of weather and eventually the video worked a lot better.
The original plans were changed slightly the female artist now only has 2 friends instead of 5 mainly because people didn't want to do it. We also changed the balcony scene to shooting on public stairs because no one wanted us in their house. Furthermore we did change a whole scene from the beach to a car.
I have learnt that film making is a lot harder then i thought, and a lot of stress. However once it's done there is a sense of self achievement and i grew to enjoy it.
